Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has pinpointed his side’s inability to convert their dominance into goals as their principle difficulty.

Klopp’s side were surprisingly beaten 2-0 by minnows Burnley on Saturday despite bossing the game, while they also conceded off their opponent’s only two shots on target.

‘If you think it’s God’s judgement that you don’t score with 80 percent of possession then you have a big problem,’ Klopp said at a press conference, reports the Liverpool Echo. ‘We have to do better,’ he added.

The manager did take pause to reflect on the positives from the Burnley clash but admitted his side had at times over-extended themselves defensively.

The coach also explained that defeat was part of football but that he expected his side to bounce back, while adding he would rotate his squad.

‘It’s good that in football that you have the chance to show in the next game. Of course we will make changes, [but] it’s not likely that we will change seven or eight positions.’

The Reds’ next clash sees them take on Burton Albion at Pirelli Stadium on Tuesday.

The League Cup clash gets underway at 20:45.
