Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney says that he has his sights firmly set on reaching and winning the EFL Cup finals.
The Red Devils are now one match away of securing their place in the finals at Wembley next month and will now go into their semi-final second leg against Hull City, with a 2-0 lead.
The 31-year-old has now set his sights set on winning the EFL Cup this season after becoming United all-time leading top scorer on Sunday.
‘I think the next thing is the League Cup, we want to win it. The final’s in February and we’ve got a game on Thursday night to try and get there,’ Rooney told the Manchester United website.
‘Every trophy is great to win in football and it’s obviously the next one we can win so that’s the focus, certainly on Thursday. We’re still in every competition we’ve entered this season.
‘The Premier League will obviously be tough but in the competitions, we’re in we feel we’ve got a good enough squad to push for those titles.’
Manchester United against Hull City kicks off at 21:45.
