Dele Alli scored twice as Tottenham Hotspur ended their winless run away from home with a come-from-behind victory at Southampton.
Saints had the perfect start when Virgil van Dijk headed in from James Ward-Prowse’s free-kick after only 69 seconds, reports the Premier League website.
But Spurs equalised on 19 minutes with Alli’s header from a deflected cross before Harry Kane headed home his eighth goal of the campaign from a Christian Eriksen corner early in the second half.
Nathan Redmond was dismissed for a foul on Alli in the area but Kane’s resulting penalty was fired over the bar when the turf gave way under his standing foot.
The penalty miss had no affect on the result, however, as substitute Son Heung-Min finished into the far corner with five minutes to go before Alli swept the ball home under Fraser Forster to seal Tottenham Hotspur’s first victory in six Premier League away matches.
They remain in fifth and one point behind fourth-placed Arsenal, while Saints slip to eighth place.
