Former Cape Town City coach Benni McCarthy is keen to gain more experience working under his former manager, Jose Mourinho, at Tottenham Hotspur.
The 42-year-old has been without a job since parting ways with the Citizens in November last year.
However, McCarthy has been linked with servers clubs, including Scottish side Hearts and GladAfrica Championship side Ajax Cape Town.
McCarthy is intent on joining Mourinho’s technical team to learn and gain valuable experience from one of the best coaches in the world.
‘I am in regular contact with Jose, so I’m going spend some time at Spurs to see how he operates and what I can learn from him,’ McCarthy told BBC Sport.
The South Africa all-time record goal-scorer was also previously linked to the Bafana Bafana job following the departure of Stuart Baxter last August, but said he would only take over the helm of the national team in a few years’ time.
