A goal by Christian Benteke helped Crystal Palace secure a 2-2 draw with Leicester City at Selhurst Part in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The Foxes got off to a great start and opened the scoring as early as the sixth minute when Robert Huth latched onto a long throw-in to escape the Palace defence to head the past Wayne Hennessey.
Palace had a chance to level matters in the 16th minute when Christian Benteke beat his marker and made his way through on-goal before producing an attempt at goal, however Casper Schmeichel was on-hand to deny the striker.
The Eagles were content on sitting back and absorbed the pressure from Leicester, hitting the defending champions on the counter-attack in the opening 30 minutes.
Leicester had a chance to double their lead a minute before the half-time interval when Riyad Mahrez made his way into the area before cutting back to get a shot away but the winger slipped at the vital moment.
Jamie Vardy then doubled his side’s lead in the 54th minute when he turned Jeffrey Schlupp before curling his effort into the far post past Wayne Hennessey.
Palace then pulled a goal back when Schlupp did well to find space before unleashing a shot at goal, but his initial shot was blocked before the ball fell to Yohan Cabaye, who blasted his effort past Schmeichel to make it 2-1.
Benteke then equalised in the 70th minute when he latched onto a cross from Andros Townsend to head his effort into the back of the net.
Both sides pressed forward in search of the winning goal in the closing stages of the match but neither side could convert their opportunities in the final third.
Meanwhile, Everton secured a 3-1 victory over Burnley at Goodison Park when goals by Phil Jagielka, Romelu Lukalu and an own goal by Ben Mee cancelled out Sam Vokes 52nd minute goal.
Stoke City returned to winning ways after they beat Hull City 3-1 at the Britania Stadium through goals by Marko Arnautovic, Peter Crouch and Xherdan Shaqiri, while Harry Maguire scored a consolation goal for the Tigers.
Watford clinched a narrow 1-0 victory over relegation-threatened Swansea City at Vicarage Road Stadium through a 46th-minute goal by Etienne Capoue.
Sunderland and West Ham United were forced to share the spoils in their 2-2 draw at the Stadium of Light when Wahbi Khazri and Fabio Borini cancelled out goals by Andre Ayew and James Collis.
