Brentford became the first side in the Premier League era to win their first three matches at Stamford Bridge following their 2-0 victory over a wasteful Chelsea in the West London derby.

Blues had a few good chances but missed them. Pinnock scored a goal from Mbeumo’s wicked cross to punish them.

Robert Sanchez, the Chelsea custodian, came up for a late corner kick. Neal Maupay led a Brentford counterattack and set up Mbeumo for the Bees’ second goal.

Chelsea almost won in the first half when Noni Madueke hit the post, but they lost at home for the ninth time this year because they couldn’t finish their chances.

Brentford’s custodian Mark Flekken was never really put to the test, and the team defended well before Chelsea scored quickly.

As a Premier League team, Brentford has won all three times they’ve been to Stamford Bridge. This time, Chelsea was clearly the better team, but Brentford did make some good chances.

Right after the break, Mathias Jensen was given space on the right side of the pitch. He cut the ball back to Vitaly Janelt, who hit Sanchez straight on with his shot.

Brentford’s goal came from a great, fast pass from the right side of the pitch by Mbeumo, which Pinnock met with a powerful header after running full speed.

During the break, Sanchez blocked a clear shot from Yegor Yarmolyuk, and Mbeumo then stabbed a shot just wide.

Thomas Frank’s team scored a second goal when Mbeumo tapped the ball into an open net with only Sanchez nearby.

After getting off to a slow start to the season, Brentford has now won two games in a row and is now 13 games without losing a London derby.
