Chelsea manager Antonio Conte says the best way for the blues to win the title is to continue their recent form in the Premier League this season.
Conte guided his side to a huge win over City as they bounced back from their weekend disappointment to maintain their seven-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.
Belgium playmaker Eden Hazard was the hero for the Blues when he scored twice in the first half to cancelled out Sergio Aguero’s equaliser for City in the 26th minute, to help his side collect all three points.
The 49-year-old says his only focus is to keep getting positive results and collecting point to keep the gap between Tottenham Hotspur, who are seven points behind the leaders in second place, and themselves.
‘First of all I think it’s better to look at ourselves. The Tottenham result is important but the most important results is ours, we have to continue to think like that,’ Conte told the Chelsea website.
‘The best way is to think Tottenham can win eight games. To win the title we need 18 points and that’s the best way for us.’
The Italian manager admits that Pep Guardiola is the best manager in the world, despite becoming the first managed to complete a league double over a team managed by Guardiola.
‘That means Pep is really the best in the world because if he never lost two games in his career (against the same opponent in one season) it means he’s great,’ He added.
The Blues are currently placed first in the Premier League standings with 72 points and having since gone on to win 23 out of 30 matches played so far this season.
Chelsea will be hoping to extend their lead at the top of the table even further when they take on Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday.
The match at the Vitality Stadium kicks off at 18:30.
