Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho has revealed that the support he received from the fans played a key role in his decision to sign a new long-term deal with the club.
Coutinho admits that the clubs supports played an influential role in helping his decision to commit his future to the Reds.
‘Ever since my arrival here, I was welcomed with open arms by the supporters – and everyone at this football club,’ Coutinho told the Liverpool website.
‘This is an important factor that carries weight when you decide to remain here for a longer period – and this did have a lot of weight when I thought about the renewal of my contract.’
The 24-year-old midfielder went on to say that he will be hoping to repay the fan for the faith they have shown in him during his four years at the club.
‘I can only thank every supporter for their faith in me. I really hope to repay them. I will do my very best on the pitch to create assists for my teammates and score goals for us to try and win trophies and titles,’ He added.
