Netherlands international Memphis Depay says he is after game time at his ‘dream club’ after an indifferent start to life in Manchester.

The Dutch international arrived in Manchester in May 2015 in a deal worth £25-million but has struggled to impress both Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho. Memphis scored seven goals in 45 appearances in all competitions during his first season with the Red Devils.

Now, the 22-year-old has reiterated his desire for game time under Mourinho after a slow start to the campaign.

‘I am the same person and I know what I want,’ Depay tells Dutch newspaper Metro Nieuws. ‘

‘A supporting role is not for me. I’m not a player who is happy with the fact that he is under contract with Manchester United.

‘This is my dream club, but I want to play.’

Depay has played just 15 minutes in his three appearances off the bench so far this season and finds himself behind summer signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Wayne Rooney for a place in the Red Devils lineup.
