Eden Hazard and Zlatan Ibrahimovic have been named alongside six nominees for the prestigious 2017 PFA Awards.
The PFA Awards celebrates the best of English football to recognise the outstanding performers in every division for the season
Chelsea duo Hazard and N’Golo Kante are joined by Manchester United forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, Everton striker Romelu Lukaku and Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez on the full shortlist.
Meanwhile, Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez, who bagged the prize last season, did not make the shortlist following his form this season.
The Premier League’s leading top scorer, Lukaku with 23 goals will go head-to-head with a number of Golden Boot nominees.
Kante, who made the shortlist last season for his contribution to Leicester City’s title win effort is one of the favourite to snap up the award.
Ibrahimovic has already scored 17 goals in his first season in the Premier League with Manchester United, while Sanchez has netted 18 times, despite Arsenal’s somewhat disappointing campaign.
Kane is the only English nominee on the shortlist and has netted 19 goals, despite two spells on the sideline with an ankle injury.
The 44th PFA awards will be held at the Grosvenor House in London on Sunday, 23 April.
The shortlists were finalised after votes by PFA members from 100 clubs across the Premier League, EFL and WSL.
