Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus admits that the secret to his success is not showing emotion, which also helps release the pressure on the field.
The 19-year-old became the first player in Premier League history to score and assist on his full debut during City’s victory over West Ham United on Wednesday.
The Brazilian forward believes not showing emotions on the fields helps relieve the pressure and contributes to his confidence during the match.
but Jesus says his temperament means he doesn’t feel the pressure.
‘I am cold and have been since a very young age. Everyone that saw me growing up, knows that,’ Jesus told the Manchester City website.
‘Of course, I have feelings, but I am cold and that helps me a lot to deal with pressure and not feel any at all. I deal with things in a very normal and natural way.
‘Of course, I make mistakes and I have made a few – it’s normal to make mistakes on the pitch and everyone does it – but I take it as something natural and I don’t allow it to get in my head.’
Manchester City will now welcome Swansea City to the Etihad Stadium when the two side’s meet in the Premier League on Sunday.
Kick-off has been set for 15:30.
