A late goal by Joshua King helped Bournemouth secure a point against Liverpool after playing out to a 2-2 draw at Anfield on Wednesday evening.
The Cherries got off to a firing start and took the lead as early as the seventh minute when Benik Afobe capitalised on an error by Wijnaldum to poke the ball into the back of the net and give his side an unlikely lead.
The Reds had their first chance at goal in the 11th minute when Origi cleverly turned away from Arter before unleashing a shot away from outside the area but the Belgian’s effort was guided just wide of the post.
Eight minutes later and Liverpool produced another effort at goal when they continued to press and, following a corner that was flicked on to the far post, an unmarked Origi was unable to direct the ball towards the target.
Bournemouth nearly doubled their lead in the 21st minute when Afobe beat his marker to control Daniels’ pinpoint ball into the box to get his effort away but James Milner got to the ball in the nick of time to put it behind for a corner.
However, Liverpool eventually found the equalising goal in the 40th minute when Roberto Firmino played Philippe Coutinho through on goal before calmly slotting the ball past Boruc and into the back of the net.
The match went into the half-time interval with the scoreline locked at 1-1 in the first 45 minutes.
Jurgen Klopp’s side came out firing in the second half and came close to taking the lead when Clyne produced a strike from just outside the box but sees his effort crash against the woodwork with Boruc beaten.
However, Liverpool eventually took the lead in the 59th minute when Origi latched onto a superb cross from Wijnaldum before headering the ball into the back of the net to make it 2-1.
The Cherrie produced another chance at goal in the 66th minute when Daniels found himself in acres of space down the left flank before he delivered an inviting ball into the box but no Bournemouth played attacked the ball, as the chance came to nothing.
With three minutes left to play, Bournemouth levelled matters when King found the back of the net after Arter’s volley fell right at the feet of the attacker before guiding the ball into the far corner of the net.
Nonetheless, Bournemouth were able to snatch a late goal to share the spoils with Liverpool at Anfield.
Meanwhile, Arsenal secured a comfortable 3-0 victory over West Ham United at the Emirates Stadium through three second-half goals by Mesut Ozil, Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud.
While Tottenham Hotspur kept their title hopes alive after they came back to secure a 3-1 victory over Swansea City when Dele Alli, Heung-Min Son and Christian Eriksen cancellled out Wayne Routledge’s 11th-minute opener.
Southampton came back from a goal down to secure a 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace at St Mary’s Stadium when Christian Benteke opened the scoring for Palace before Nathan Redmond, Maya Yoshida and James Ward-Prowse handed the Saints all three points.
Lazar Markovic, Oumar Niasse, Abel Hernandez and Harry Maguire helped Hull City come back to secure a 4-2 victory over Middlesbrough at the Kingston Communications Stadium to secure all three points.
