Jurgen Klopp was left fuming after his side suffered a humiliating 3-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League on Saturday.
Solly March’s two goals and Danny Welbeck’s late goal destroyed Klopp’s troubled team in the second half.
Liverpool’s terrible game came right after they lost 3-1 at Brentford and were saved from losing in the FA Cup by a controversial VAR call against Wolves.
The Reds are stuck in eighth place in the Premier League, and their hopes of finishing in the top four are getting smaller and smaller every week.
Klopp couldn’t believe what he was seeing as Brighton wore out his team in a way that he hadn’t seen since he became manager in 2015.
“Bad. Really bad. I can’t remember a worse game. It was a very organised team against a not very organised team,” Klopp said.
“Massively frustrated. We gave the ball away, the spaces were too big and we couldn’t push up. That is obviously not good, especially against a super well-drilled side like Brighton. They got more confident and we did the opposite.
“I had an idea to change the formation which was to try help the team. That was the idea. But we never did it properly.
“We need to be creative with the options we have. What I saw today from my team was that they were not really convinced by it. That’s it.”
