Burnley manager Vincent Kompany has confirmed that South African striker Lyle Foster “won’t be available” for their upcoming Premier League encounter against Arsenal on Saturday.
The 23-year-old missed out on the Africa Cup of Nations with Bafana Bafana due to his mental health treatment.
Foster is now also expected to miss South Africa’s upcoming international friendly matches against Algeria and Andorra.
Kompany has since provided an update on the fitness of Lyle Foster after he missed out on representing Bafana at the AFCON.
“Lyle Foster won’t be available yet,” Kompany told his club’s official website.
“He’s had surgery on a chronic issue that needed resolving. It’s not the end of his season, but he will miss out for a bit,” saying he would give a further update in the coming weeks.
