Burnley manager Vincent Kompany admits he was pleased with Bafana Bafana striker Lyle Foster following his stellar performance against Aston Villa over the weekend.
The 22-year-old finally opened his account for Burnley after bagging his first Premier League goal of the season.
The Bafana Bafana striker found the back of the net after latching on to a loose ball before showing his composure to fend off the defender to volley the ball into the back of the net.
Kompany admits that Foster is still a young player but was pleased to see that their pre-season work is coming into effect.
“We can’t forget his age, he’s still fairly young. But he’s just continuing what we’ve seen in the entire pre-season,” Kompany told his club’s official website.
“He has speed to run in behind, he’s strong to hold the ball up and he’s able to combine with his teammates and able to score a goal as well.
“For him we’re obviously really pleased, but for the team the reward will be the first time we win a game.”
