Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana believes his side has to stand up and take responsibility, starting with their Premier League clash against Arsenal on Saturday.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are currently placed fifth in the Premier League standings with 49 points, having won 14 of 26 matches played so far this season, and trailing the Gunners by a point.
The Reds appeared to have found their form again, following their convincing 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on February 11, bringing an end to a run of just one win in 10 games.
However, after a two-week break from action following the FA Cup, Liverpool resumed their Premier League campaign with a disappointing 3-1 defeat against defending champions Leicester City on Monday.
The 28-year-old insists that his side have to start taking responsibility for the outcome of their matches, starting with their Premier league clash against the Gunners on Saturday.
‘I trust the boss, all the players trust the boss, and we’re all in it together,’ Lallana told the Liverpool website.
‘As you’re in it together when you’re succeeding and you’re playing well, we’re all in it together when things aren’t going too well.
‘That’s the position that we’re in at the minute and we just need to stand up and be counted and take responsibility. And that’s starting this Saturday against Arsenal.’
The England Player of the Year has managed to score seven goals and has assisted a further seven from 28 appearances in all competitions so far this season.
Liverpool will next welcome Arsenal to Anfield when they do battle in the Premier League on Saturday.
Kick-off has been set for 19:30.
