Leeds have officially announced that they have signed Austrian international defender Max Wober from RB Salzburg for an undisclosed fee.
The 24-year-old, who can play both center back and left back, is the Premier League club’s first signing of the January transfer window. He signed a four-and-a-half-year deal.

Wober has been called up to the national team 13 times and played for Salzburg when Jesse Marsch was in charge there. Marsch was with the Austrian club for two years, from 2019 to 2021.
Wober will also meet up with Brenden Aaronson, a forward from the United States, and Rasmus Kristensen, a defender from Denmark. Both players came to Leeds from Salzburg before the season started.
Wober played for Rapid Vienna, Ajax, and Sevilla before joining Salzburg. He made 125 appearances for Salzburg in all competitions and won the Austrian league and cup double three times in a row.
Leeds is currently 14th in the Premier League table. They are only two points above the relegation zone, but they have a game in hand on the teams below them.
