Leicester City came from behind to secure a 3-1 victory over Hull City, while Southampton clinched a 4-3 win over Watford in a seven-goal thriller in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Foxes got off to a bright start and should’ve opened the scoring as early as the fourth minute when captain West Morgan had a free header in the box, but put his effort wide following a Riyad Mahrez cross.
Two minutes later and Leicester had another chance to take the lead when Jamie Vardy broke down left, played a ball between the goalkeeper and defenders straight to Marc Albrighton, who guided his effort wide of the target from a yard out.
However, the Tigers eventually broke the deadlock in the 14th minute when Kamil Grosicki pulled the ball back for Sam Clucas in the area before putting the ball into the back of the net with a simple tap-in to make it 1-0.
The Foxes responded well and levelled matters in the 27th minute when Vardy played Christian Fuchs to slot the ball into the back of the net with ease, giving Hull goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic no chance to save it.
The match went into the half-time interval locked at 1-1 after playing 45 minutes of football.
Hull came out firing in the second half and nearly took the lead when Harry Maguire rose the highest to meet the ball from the resulting corner, only for his headed effort to hit the woodwork.
In the 50th minute, Hull had another good opportunity to take the lead when Maguire had a free header at goal, but his attempt fell straight into the hands of Leicester shot-stopper Kasper Schmeichel, who made a comfortable save.
The Tigers starts dominated possession and once again came close to scoring when Clucas beat his marker before unleashing a shot a goal, but his shot lacked any real power and Leicester were able to clear the ball away to safety.
A minute before the hour mark, Leicester took the lead for the first time in the match when Mahrez beat Robertson and Maguire with his trickery, before switching the ball back on to his right and firing a low shot into the back of the net.
Three minutes later, Grosicki forced Schmeichel into making a good save from a fierce free-kick as the score remained 2-1.
With six minutes left to play, Schmeichel came to his side’s rescue when he was on hand to deny Niasse at his near post after the striker did well to work himself into space before taking a shot at goal.
However, the Foxes all but sealed the victory in stoppage-time when Tom Huddlestone put the ball into the back of his own net, as Leicester walk away with all three points.
Meanwhile, Swansea City clinched a 3-2 victory over Burnley at the Liberty Stadium when goals by Fernando Llorente and Martin Olsson handed the Swans all three points, while Andre Gray scored a brace for his side.
While Stoke City claimed a comfortable 2-0 victory over Middlesbrough at the Britania Stadium after Marko Arnautovic scored a brace. His side walked away with all three points.
Crystal Palace defeated West Bromwich Albion 2-0 at the Hawthorns to collect all three points courtesy of a 55th-minute goal by Wilfred Zaha and a goal by Andros Townsend.
Southampton secured a 4-3 victory over Watford at St Mary’s Stadium. Goals by Dusan Tadic, Nathan Redmond and Manolo Gabbiadini cancelled out Troy Deeney, Stefano Okaka Chuka and Abdoulaye Doucoure’s goals to collect all three points.
