The Colombian striker skillfully manoeuvred into the box and effortlessly side-stepped Thomas Kaminski at the near post, providing the hosts with some breathing room on a night that at first appeared to be theirs to lose in the championship match.
In the ninetieth minute, Harvey Elliott—who was playing for the club for the first time—scored the fourth goal to cap off an excellent second half.
After losing 3-1 at Arsenal last month, Liverpool now has three straight victories. This gave them more momentum heading into Sunday’s EFL Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley.
Despite having played one more game than the reigning champions, Jurgen Klopp’s team leads second-place Manchester City by four points, with Luton still in third position.
