A goal by Fernando Llorente helped Swansea City climb out of the relegation zone after their 1-0 victory over Everton in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Swans needed three points to move above Hull City and into 17th place after the Tigers suffered a 2-0 defeat against relegated Sunderland earlier in the day.
However, Swansea broke the deadlock in the 29th minute when Llorente latched on to a cross from Jordan Ayew before finding the back of the net.
The Welsh side defended for most of the second-half, but they could not convert their clear-cut opportunities in the final third as the match ended 1-0 in favour of Swansea to seal a vital win for the Swans.
Swansea City now finds themselves on 35 points, a point above Hull, while Everton missed the chance to go into the top six above sixth-placed Arsenal and they remain in seventh spot in the Premier League standings.
