Algerian wing Riyad Mahrez has completed a record £60-million move from Leicester City to Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola’s side has broken their club’s transfer record to snap up the services of the 2015-16 PFA Players’ Player of the Year, with the wing signing a five-year deal to become the Blues’ first acquisition since winning the league.

The Citizens were initially poised to secure Mahrez’s signature in January, however, they were reportedly put off by the Foxes’ asking price.

The tricky wing revealed his delight upon signing a contract with the club and cited the club’s style of play as a factor behind his decision to move there.
‘Watching them from afar has been a pleasure,’ he told said at his unveiling.

‘Pep Guardiola is committed to playing attacking football, and City’s performances last season were outstanding.

‘I think we can be successful over the coming years and I believe my own game can develop under Pep’s management,’ he added.

Mahrez leaves Leicester having cemented his place among the greats at the club, after playing an integral role in them winning the Premier League title.
The former African Player of the Year leaves the club having scored 48 goals in 179 appearances.
Leicester are set to make a whopping profit from Mahrez as the club bought him for a mere £400,000 in 2014 from Le Havre.
