Chelsea have confirmed that attacker Cole Palmer has signed a two-year contract extension with the club.

The 22-year-old, who committed to the London team until June 2033, left Manchester City for Chelsea in a September move worth £42.5 million.

“I’m delighted to sign this new deal,” Cole told Chelsea’s official website.

“I achieved a lot in my first season here, and hopefully I can continue to experience great things at this club, both on a personal level and in terms of bringing success and trophies to Chelsea.”

Palmer scored 22 Premier League goals in his incredible season of the previous year. He also played for England in the Euro 2024 final, when he came off the bench to score an equaliser against Spain.

With his goal total comprising league hat-tricks in back-to-back games at Stamford Bridge against Manchester United and Everton, he was also voted the Premier League’s young player of the year.

Chelsea, who placed sixth in the table the previous year, takes on champion Manchester City at home on Sunday to start the new Premier League season.
