Chelsea manager Graham Potter praised the quality of new signing Joao Felix and believe the Portuguese forward could “make a difference” in the Blues squad.
The Portugal international signed for the Blues for a reported fee of €11 million ($12 million) as Potter looks to bolster his squad following a number of injuries to the first team squad.
Chelsea are now waiting to hear whether Felix was registered in time to feature against Fulham at Craven Cottage in a London derby on Thursday.
“Chelsea is one of the great teams in the world and I hope to help the team reach their objectives, so I am very, very happy to be here and very excited to play at Stamford Bridge,” Felix said in a club statement.
The Chelsea mentor believes that Felix will only boost the Blues’ attacking options as the club has only scored 20 goals in the Premier League this season.
“He’s a quality player. He can make a difference in the final third of the pitch,” Potter said.
“He’s young but has still had a lot of really good experience. He’s just a quality player that gives everyone a lift.
“We’ve been aware of him for a while — these kinds of things don’t happen quickly. The injuries have sharpened the focus a little bit.”
