Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has hailed Manchester United star Wayne Rooney’s achievements but insists he would not add him to his squad.
Claudio Ranieri revealed he retains complete faith in his squad and would not exchange any of his players to accommodate the England star – who has been criticised in the media of late following a slump in form that coincided with a run of three straight defeats for the Red Devils.
Now, Rooney and co are preparing to welcome Ranieri’s Foxes to Old Trafford on Saturday as both sides look to hit their stride in the Premier League.
‘He is an amazing player. He’s a champion,’ Ranieri told the media, reports Goal. ‘[But] I love my players, and I wouldn’t change my players with anybody else.
‘I’m very pleased with them and we think we can have a very good season,’ added the Italian.
The Red Devils currently sit in seventh place on the table having been joint top of the standings just two weeks ago, while defending champions Leicester have picked up their form in recent weeks and now sit 11th on the log.
