Manchester City forward Leroy Sane says his side will head into their clash with Premier League leaders Chelsea without any fear.
The Citizens missed out on the chance of closing the gap on the Blues following their 2-2 draw with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
The 21-year-old admits that he was disappointed by his side’s result, especially because the Premier League table toppers had fallen to a 2-1 defeat against Crystal Palace the previous day.
‘It was disappointing for us, because the other scores were good for us – Chelsea lost,’ Sane told the Manchester City website.
‘It’s very difficult (to catch them). They lost and it was very important for us to win the game (against Arsenal) and get three points.
‘We only have one but we have to carry on.’
The German forward says that he enjoyed his battle against Arsenal right back Hector Bellerin, but he admits that the Spanish fullback has more pace than him.
‘He is a very quick full-back. I don’t think I’m faster than him, but it was okay today,’ he added.
‘For the fans, it’s good to see how we run.’
The former Schalke 04 forward believes his side are capable of returning to Manchester with a positive result from their next match against the Blues at Stamford Bridge.
‘On Wednesday, it’s an important game against Chelsea. We can win and get three points,’ Sane said.
Manchester City will now travel to Stamford Bridge when they take on Chelsea in the Premier League on Wednesday.
Kick-off has been set for 21:00.
