Premier League surprise package Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur begin their quest for Champions League glory when they take to the European stage on Wednesday.

The defending Premier League champions face a trip to the Jan Breydel Stadium where they will take on Club Brugge in what is their first ever taste of Champions League football.

The Foxes have struggled to reproduce their title winning form this season and went down heavily at Anfield last weekend, eventually losing 4-1. Leicester will be without the likes of wing Jeffrey Schlupp, who is struggling with a muscle problem, while Danny Simpson is a doubt following a hamstring injury and Nampalys Mendy has an ankle problem.

Brugge have struggled this season and currently lie 10th on the table in the Belgian League with just seven points from six matches played. The side will be without the likes of injured forward Wesley Moraes for the tie, while Israeli wing Lior Refaelov is also set to miss out having sustained a pelvis problem.

Spurs welcome Ligue 1 side Monaco to White Hart Lane as they seek to get off to a fast start in Europe. The side has been boosted by the return of influential midfielder Moussa Dembele but will have to make do without left back Danny Rose, who has picked up an injury.

Spurs will be confident heading into the tie having hit their stride in a 4-0 demolition of Stoke City on the weekend. The London club will take heart from their promising result against Monaco in the Europa League last season – a game they won 4-1.

Monaco, for their part, will be without 17-year-old striking starlet Kylian Mbappe for the tie, while defender Benjamin Mendy has also been ruled out. Radamel Falcao is expected to lead the line as the Columbian striker continues his revival, while Monaco will be boosted by an impressive run of form of late – including victories over the likes of Lille and Paris Saint-Germain.
