Tottenham Hotspur secured their seventh consecutive victory in the Premier League following their 4-0 thumping of Bournemouth at White Hart Lane on Saturday.
Spurs got off to a bright start and took the lead in the 16th minute when Christian Eriksen sent a low corner into the box, but the ball evaded everyone before falling to the feet of Moussa Dembele, who smashed the ball into the bottom corner from eight yards out.
Heung-Min Son then doubled their lead three minutes later when Harry Kane flicked the ball into the path of the South Korean who he made his way into the box and slid the ball through the legs of Bournemouth goalkeeper Artur Boruc from a tight angle.
The Cherries came close in the 27th minute when Junior Stanislas whipped in a low cross across the face of goal, but Benik Afobe could not make any connection on the ball with his sliding challenge at the far post.
Spurs came close to adding a third in the 39th minute when Eriksen fired his effort at goal, however his first-time shot went narrowly over the crossbar.
The title hopefuls maintained their 2-0 lead against Bournemouth as they headed into the half-time break.
Spurs came out firing in the second half and extended their lead in the 48th minute when Dele Alli sent a cross straight to the feet of Kane, who beat his marker before slotting a low left-footed shot into the bottom corner.
Kane had a chance to get his brace two minutes later when he was played through on-goal by Eriksen before firing his strike from 18-yards out straight into the hands of the Bournemouth keeper.
The Cherries had a chance to pull a goal back in the 72nd minute when Harry Arter unleashed a powerful strike at goal from 25 yards out, but Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris was on-hand to make a comfortable save.
Spurs added a fourth in stoppage-time when substitute Vincent Janssen latched onto a cross from Ben Davies and although his first attempt was blocked by Boruc, he kept his cool to slot home the rebound.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side managed to see off the rest of the match with relative ease to secure all three points and keep the pressure on leaders Chelsea.
