Raheem Sterling played a starring role to inspire Chelsea to an impressive comeback victory over Burnley at Turf Moor in the Premier League on Saturday.

Wilson Odobert scored the game’s first goal by drilling a low, hard shot past Robert Sanchez. This made the home fans at Turf Moor go crazy.

Chelsea was all over the place at times, but an unfortunate own goal brought them back to even before halftime.

After coming back from a virus, Sterling sent in a cross that hit Ameen Al-Dakhil on the knee and went over James Trafford into the net.

After that, Chelsea played very well in the second half and scored three goals to win.

Sterling hasn’t played for England since the World Cup, but he got a penalty when Brazilian defender Vitinho tripped him up. Cole Palmer scored his first goal for Chelsea since moving from Manchester City.

Sterling scored his team’s third goal with an arrowed finish after Conor Gallagher saw him run. Sterling has won the Premier League four times.

After Sterling’s goal, the game started up again, but referee Stuart Attwell stopped it so that the video assistant referee (VAR) could check for a possible offside. In the end, the goal was allowed to stand.

Nicolas Jackson, who came on as a substitute, sealed the win with a spin and finish. Sterling was involved in the move again.

It has been since October 2022 that Chelsea has won back-to-back away games in the Premier League. They did it at Fulham on Monday.

The team led by Mauricio Pochettino played very well and scored four goals in a Premier League game for the first time since April 2022.

This season, it’s been hard for Chelsea to score goals, but with Sterling in charge, they had no trouble in East Lancashire.

Sterling has been left out of England’s squad for the fourth time in a row. The Three Lions are getting ready to play Australia in a friendly and Italy in a Euro 2024 qualifier.

Still, the 28-year-old showed Gareth Southgate what a good player he is by helping his team score all of their goals.

This was only Chelsea’s seventh Premier League win of the year, and they are still a work in progress under Pochettino. When they meet again after the international break on October 21, Arsenal will likely be a much tougher test.

However, they had four points from four games going into the international break in September. They now look like they are moving in the right direction as goals start to come in.

Chelsea is now in 10th place in the table after this win. They have 11 points from eight games.

It was important for Burnley to keep going after their first league win of the season, which came at Luton on Tuesday.

Vincent Kompany’s team looked like they were on the right track when Odobert scored his first Premier League goal.

After Al-Dakhil’s own goal, Odobert sent in a cross that almost led to a second goal before the Clarets’ defence gave way.

Only Sheffield United, who are at the bottom of the table, has given up more goals than Burnley. Since winning promotion, Burnley hasn’t kept a clean sheet in the league.

Not just the defence needs to be fixed.

Burnley has lost at home to Manchester City, Aston Villa, Tottenham, Manchester United, and now Chelsea. They need to quickly find a way to win in front of their own fans if they want to stay up.
