Bafana Bafana forward Percy Tau has completed his move from Mamelodi Sundowns to Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion.

The 24-year-old forward has agreed a four-year contract and will be loaned out ahead of the new season.

Tau started his career with the Brazilians and spent a season on loan at Witbank Spurs in 2015-16 before returning to the club in 2016.

He has won seven trophies throughout his career in South African, claiming three Absa Premiership titles, Caf Champions League trophy, Caf Super Cup, a Nedbank Cup trophy and the Telkom Knockout Cup.

The Bafana Bafana forward was also named Absa Premiership Players’ Player of the Season and Player of the Season for 2017-18.

On an international level, the speedster has made 12 international appearances for South Africa while scoring five goals in the process.

Brighton manager Chris Hughton revealed Tau will go out on loan to gain more experience of playing football in Europe.

‘Percy is a player we have highlighted for the future, and there is no doubting his talent, having been voted South African player of the season.

‘Percy will go out on loan this season, play regularly and get some experience of European football.

‘We will be watching his progress and monitoring his development over the season.’
