Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has been impressed by the immediate impact made by Brazilian starlet Gabriel Jesus.

The 19-year-old joined the club from Brazilian Serie A side Palmeiras after helping the club win their first Brazilian league title since 1994.

The Ivory Coast international has heaped praise on the young Brazilian forward and has labelled him as a ‘very clever’ player for his strength and pace on and off the ball.

‘Gabriel is very clever,’ Toure said.

‘I say it at the training ground that he looks like an old guy because he is clever, he is moving clever and he is quite strong as well. It is not easy to play against tough defenders and he got kicked. But I told him to keep going.’

Manchester City will now take on West Ham United in the Premier League on Wednesday.

The match at the London Stadium kicks off at 21:45.
