Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has labelled Leroy Sane as a ‘fantastic talent’ after the German produced a fine performance against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
The 21-year-old, who joined the club from Bundesliga side Schalke, scored his first goal for the club during a man-of-the-match display against Arsenal in December.
However, injury has delayed his progress temporarily but he has now returned to the starting lineup against Spurs and was in fine form after scoring the opener during their 2-2 draw.
Toure has been hugely impressed by the German forward performance during his first few months at the Etihad.
‘Leroy Sane is a fantastic talent,’ Toure told the Manchester City website, ‘Today, for me, he was man of the match.
‘Of course, we don’t get the three points – but I think today he was especially very, very good.
‘He’s very quick, sharp and strong with both legs. I love this player.’
Manchester City will now turn their attention to the FA Cup when they face Crystal Palace on Saturday.
The match at the Etihad Stadium kicks off at 17:00.
