Spurs midfielder Victor Wanyama had the last laugh after scoring just days after his glaring miss against Manchester United.
Wanyama missed a free header against the Red Devils but was on target against Hull on Wednesday.
The Kenyan midfielder went straight over to the bench to celebrate.
‘The staff have been giving me stick, saying there’s no point me going to the goal because I keep passing back to the keeper and not scoring,’ Wanymaa explained.
Mauricio Pochettino added: ‘Yes, in a funny way we’ve killed him a little bit, but in the same way we said “okay, in the next game you must score, you need to score”‘.
‘He came to the bench with Jesus, Toni and Miguel and it’s important for the player. It was funny and I’m happy, the third goal helped us to be more comfortable in the game and end with a good feeling.’
Christian Eriksen scored twice against Hull to take his tally to five goals in four games and Pochettino was delighted with the Dane’s performance and that his team bounced back following the loss at Old Trafford.
‘I’m very happy for him. He nearly scored the third as well, it was an unbelievable free-kick. I’m happy for Victor Wanyama too because he missed a big, big chance at United.
‘I’m happy for the players, we suffered a lot after Manchester and it’s good to recover the feeling of winning games.’
