The 67-year-old revealed that midfielder Arron Ramsey and stand-in captain Laurent Koscielny have returned to full training with the first team squad following their respective injuries.
Wenger also stated that Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny will be sidelined for up to three weeks, after picking up an ankle problem against Sutton United in the FA Cup.
‘We have Aaron Ramsey back in the squad. He’s back in full training. Laurent Koscielny, who we lost at Bayern Munich, is back in full training as well,’ Wenger told the Arsenal website.
‘Elneny has an ankle problem that should be sorted out in three weeks. He got injured at Sutton and will not be available for Saturday’s game.’
However, The French manager has confirmed that strikers Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck are back in contention and have been made available for selection, returning to full fitness following their respective injury lay-offs.
‘Olivier Giroud is back in the squad as well,’ he added.
‘He’s in contention. Yes [we’ve been careful] because he had ups and downs with his response to his knee problem. I followed the advice of our medical staff.’
The Gunners have recently won three out of five matches in the Premier League, having suffered two defeats against Hull City and Chelsea.
Arsenal will next take on Liverpool in what is expected to be an entertaining clash in the Premier League on Saturday.
