Arsene Wenger says he expects January to be ‘very quiet’ for Arsenal on the transfer front after revealing that Hector Bellerin and Francis Coquelin are among a number of players returning from injury.
Right-back Bellerin and midfielder Coquelin have not featured in the Gunners’ last two matches due to respective ankle and hamstring injuries, while Kieran Gibbs is also back after having been sidelined since Boxing Day with a knee problem.
The return of the trio as well as Danny Welbeck’s recovery from his second long-term knee injury in two years has prompted Wenger to reveal that he is not planning to reinforce his squad this month, reports the Premierleague.com.
‘I expect it to be a very quiet period because we have Welbeck coming back now,’ he told Arsenal.com. ‘Offensively we are very strong. We have many, many players who can come in and I don’t expect to do anything special.’
Bellerin and Coquelin are in contention to face Burnley on Sunday.
