Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admits that he is ‘disappointed and angry’ following his side’s 3-1 defeat against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The Gunners suffered their fifth defeat in the Premier League this season through goals by Marcos Alonso, Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas but Olivier Giroud did manage to score a consolation goal in 91st minute of stoppage-time.

The 67-year-old says he was left frustrated with his side after they showed a lack of creativity in the final third and he believes the Gunners didn’t really look confident enough in attack.

‘We didn’t create enough,’ Wenger told the Arsenal website.

‘We lacked a little bit of what makes our game efficient in the final third. We didn’t look really dangerous enough and that was difficult to watch from upstairs.

‘They did not create a lot when they had the ball, they created all their chances on the counter-attack. If you analyse the game well, we were never in that position because they never needed to come out.’

The French manager continued to says that he was disappointed with his side’s performance against the Blues following their display in the London derby.

‘We had to finish the game with five strikers on the pitch basically. Of course, then you favour the counter-attack of the team, but they do that [sitting deep and frustrating us] well,’ He added.

‘I am disappointed and angry because we lost a very big game.’

The Gunners are currently placed fourth on the Premier League standing with 47 points, having won 14 out of 24 matches in the league so far this season.

Arsenal will next take on Hull City in the Premier League on Saturday.

The match at the Emirates Stadium kicks off at 14:30.
