Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has responded to the Chelsea supporters, who called him Judas during their FA Cup match at Stamford Bridge on Monday.
The Red Devils were eliminated from the competition after suffering a 1-0 defeat against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge through a goal by N’Golo Kante in the quarter-finals.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils were reduced to 10-men after Ander Herrera was shown a second yellow card in the 35th minute for a foul on Eden Hazard and United were forced to play the rest of the match with a man down.
The Portuguese manager responded to the Blues supporters calling him ‘Judas’ by stating that he is still ‘number one’, despite being eliminated from the competition.
‘They can call what they want, I am professional and I defend my club. Until the moment they have a manager that wins four Premier Leagues for them, I am the number one,’ Mourinho told the Manchester United website.
‘When they have somebody that wins four Premier Leagues, I become number two. But until this moment Judas is number one.’
Manchester United will now turn their attention to the Europa League when they welcome Rostov to Old Trafford in the second leg encounter on Thursday.
Kick-off has been set for 22:05.
