Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says his side are under a lot of pressure to win against Lincoln City in their FA Cup clash at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
The Gunners were recently eliminated from the Champions League after suffering a humiliating 10-2 aggregate defeat against the Bundesliga side in their two-legged fixtures.
The 67-year-old manager has called on his side to respond to their recent defeat against Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday.
‘The FA Cup is the next game, and of course, when you’ve had a disappointment like we had in the last game, it’s important [to respond],’ Wenger told the Arsenal website.
The French manager concedes that the Gunners are favourites to win the clash, but he insists that it adds unwanted pressure on his side and their performance.
‘We are favourites, but when you are at a big club, you are favourites 90 percent of the time and you have to deal with that. It’s the next game and in the next game, people expect us to win, so there’s a pressure there of course,’ he added.
Arsenal will now turn their attention to the FA Cup when they take on Lincoln City on Saturday.
The match at the Emirates Stadium kicks off at 19:30.
