Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says his squad is highly motivated ahead of their FA Cup semi-final encounter against Manchester City at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
The Gunners made their way into the last four after they demolished Lincoln City 5-0 at the Emirates Stadium on 11 March, through goals by Theo Walcott, Olivier Giroud, Alexis Sanchez, Aaron Ramsey and an own goal by Luke Waterfall.
The 67-year-old knows what to expect in their clash against Pep Guardiola’s side, having already played in 11 FA Cup semi-finals before.
The Arsenal manager says his side are focused and ready to fight for a place in the finals of the competition, following their recent disappointing run of results.
‘What I expect when you go to the semi-final is go to the final,’ Wenger told the Arsenal website.
‘So it’s a special experience and we are focused and highly motivated. Maybe not at the maximum of our confidence, because we had recently some disappointing results, but that is a good opportunity to show we are ready for a fight and how much we want to go to the final.’
Arsenal and Manchester City will now go head-to-head in a mouth-watering FA Cup semi-final clash at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
Kick-off has been set for 16:00.
