Barcelona president Jose Luis Bartomeu has played down speculation linking Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez with a mega-million euro move to Manchester United.
The Premier League giants have been linked with a €150-million interest in Suarez, but his club have attempted to kill any gossip by declaring their star happy at the Nou Camp.
‘We read, we listen, we see this news, but of course, our interest in this particular case is that Luis Suarez is happy at Barcelona,’ the president told Sky Sports.
‘We are trying to extend his contract with Barcelona and he is one of our big future efforts because he is still young, he has a vision, a lot of ambition.’
Suarez was awarded last season’s Golden Shoe as Europe’s top scorer while the former Liverpool star also lifted La Liga’s Pichichi after topping league’s scoring charts.
