Barcelona have held onto their second place in the annual revenue among world football clubs, according to the 2017 Football Money League.
The 20th edition of the study shows that Manchester United are placed at the top of the list for the 2015-16 season with revenues of €689-million.
Meanwhile, Barcelona came in second with €620.2-million in revenues, followed by Real Madrid, who led the ranking last year with income of €620.1-million.
The high rate of revenue growth, particularly in the commercial area, moved Barça ahead of Real Madrid, thanks to a growth of 11% compared to what was reported in last year’s study.
This year’s analysis, which corresponds to the last fiscal year, saw Barca surpass €620-million, a continuation of its upward trend, thus laying the foundation for future growth.
In looking ahead, Deloitte highlighted the bar Barcelona has set for itself to become the first club to reach €1bn in revenues and noted that the club could reach the top spot in next year’s edition.
