Real Madrid have announced that midfielder Toni Kroos has signed a contract extension which keeps him at the club until 2022.
The 26-year-old joined Los Blancos from Bayern Munich for £24-million in 2014 and has won the Champions League with the Spanish side last season.
‘Real Madrid C. F. and Toni Kroos have come to an agreement on a contract extension which will see the player linked to the club until 30 June 2022,’ reports the Real Madrid website.
The former Bayern Munich midfielder could now earn as much as £18-million-a-season, which is equivalent to just under £350,000-a-week and his new deal should fend off big clubs from signing him next season
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was recently linked with a move for Kroos and was trying to lure the midfielder into signing for the Blues this season but he opted to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
