Real Madrid have set a new club record after finding the back of the net in their last 42 official matches. This is a historical milestone for the club.
The Spanish giants recently claimed a 2-0 victory over Espanyol in the La Liga through goals by Alvaro Morata and Gareth Bale on his return to the club.
Real have now found the back of the net in the last 42 matches, since the goalless game against Manchester City in the first leg of last season’s Champions League semi-final.
However, the Whites have scored in every single game since the last five of last season, plus the 37 they have played so far in this campaign.
This figure has never before been attained in the history of the club, scoring in 42 consecutive games, better than the 41 which they have managed to achieve in the 1951-52 and 1952-53 campaigns, then 1987-88 and 88-89 and last in 2011-12.
Zinedine Zidane’s side are currently placed first in the La Liga standings with 52 points, having won 16 out of 21 matches played so far this season.
Real Madrid will be hoping to continue to score when they take on Valencia in the La Liga on Wednesday.
The match at the Estadio de Mestalla kicks off at 19:45.
