Luka Modric returned to training with European champions Real Madrid on Wednesday as ongoing talks over a move to Inter Milan persists.
Nerazzurri coach Luciano Spalletti hinted at a move for the best player from the 2018 Fifa World Cup, yet Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui insisted that the 32-year-old is going nowhere.

Modric had been expected to be back at the club on Wednesday having been granted an extended break following his exploits for Croatia at last month’s world cup.

And Madrid uploaded a series of images onto their website of Wednesday’s training session, which included the Croatian midfielder, under the headline ‘Modric joins training in Real Madrid City’.
