Champions League success will be key to Thomas Tuchel’s objectives after he was handed the reins at PSG. While the Parisians won a domestic treble under Emery this season, failure in the Champions League again proved to cost another PSG coach his job.
The French champions have turned to the former Borussia Dortmund boss after two seasons under the guidance of Emery, who will leave following next weekend’s final game of the Ligue 1 season at Caen.
The German coach has been linked with English giants Arsenal and Chelsea but after being out of work since his Dortmund exit almost a year ago, he has signed a two-year deal with the French champions.
