Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Felipe Ovono has become a transfer target for NDF side Royal Eagles, according to reports.
Ovono was among the players listed as surplus to requirements by the Buccaneers a month ago and has been training with the development side ever since.
Eagles are now believed to be keen on acquiring the services of the player as they attempt to sure up their goal as they bid for promotion to the top flight.
‘There has been contact. The figures have been discussed,’ a source told KickOff.
‘The team is currently in Gauteng for their pre-season training and will be playing Pirates this afternoon. They hope to meet Pirates today to see if they can secure his clearance.’
Ovono has also been rumoured to be close to a switch to an unnamed Saudi Arabian side, having struggled to cement a place in the first team following his arrival at the club back in March 2015.
Pirates recently acquired the services of former Mpumalanga Black Aces keeper Jackson Mabokgwane, while Brighton Mhlongo remains the first choice shot-stopper at the club.
Ovono made just six appearances for Bucs across all competitions last term.
