Bidvest Wits boss Gavin Hunt has already turned his attention to his club’s next fixture following a dominant 3-0 victory over Mamelodi Sundowns.
Hunt has refused to relax following the impressive MTN8 final victory, though he did admit he was delighted at the result
‘It’s just a one step forward and that’s all we are looking at. We are concentrating on the next game,’ Hunt told Goal. ‘We are obviously happy, but we need to move forward now and worry about the next game that’s the most important.’
Having lost the Nedbank Cup final two seasons ago and finished runners-up in the Premiership last season, the MTN8 success was Wits’ first piece of silverware since 2010.
‘It’s worrying that we are not playing now because our next game was supposed to be Sundowns next week, but that game is off,’ Hunt explained. ‘And then obviously we got to play the Telkom and lot of games after that. So it’s frustrating, but it’s football. We are all in the same situation.’
The side’s next match will see them renew their bid for Telkom Knockout glory as they prepare for a clash that will take place between October 18 and October 23.
