SuperSport United forward Fagrie Lakay revealed that his side ‘are ready to do anything’ to defend their MTN8 crown ahead of their semi-final first leg clash against Kaizer Chiefs, writes DEAN WORKMAN.

The MTN8 was the only shining light in what was a poor 2017/18 season for Matsatsantsa a Pitori.

Looking to become the first team to defend their title since Orlando Pirates in 2011, the Pretoria based club begun the defence of their title with a hard-fought penalty shoot-out victory over the Buccaneers.

Speaking about their upcoming MTN8 semi-final, Lakay revealed that although the victory over Pirates boosted their confidence, they are prepared for a tough encounter in the two-legged semi-final against Chiefs.

‘The mood is good [after the victory over Pirates], always feels good to win but we put that behind us and the focus is on the game ahead,’ the forward told TFGSportsClub.

On his side’s upcoming fixture against Chiefs, the Cape Town-born forward added, ‘Yeah, not easy games, if you want to defend your title you need to be ready for anything.

‘It won’t be a easy one , we prepared well and we ready.’

SuperSport and Chiefs will do battle in the first leg of their MTN8 semi-final on Sunday, with kick-off set for 3pm.
