Gift Links challenges Ntsikelelo Nyauza

Cape Town City wing Gift Links is determined to claim his first piece of silverware at the club after missing out on a final during his time in Egypt, writes DYLAN APPOLIS.

The 19-year-old attacker joined the Citizens on a five-year deal for a reported club record fee from Egyptian giants Pyramids during the summer transfer window.

The former Platinum Stars attacker was mainly introduced from the bench in their first nine games of the campaign, but started and played the full 90 minutes in their 2-2 draw against the Buccaneers last week in the Absa Premiership.

Links has since made seven appearances in all competitions for the Citizens, four in the league and three in the MTN8 competition.

The City wing says that he is looking forward to having an opportunity to appear in his first final for the club, stating he will give his all if he is chosen on Saturday.

‘It’s my first final. Unfortunately, three months back we lost in the semi-final [with] my previous team [Pyramids], so I’m looking forward to it,’ Links told the media.

‘I’m sure the players won’t let SuperSport beat us twice. We have to return home with this one. Yeah, that’s all we want. We have to put in 150%.’

Cape Town City will take on SuperSport United in the MTN8 final at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday with kick-off set for 7pm.
