Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says his side will have an attacking mindset when they take on Cape Town City in their MTN8 semi-final decider at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday.

The Brazilians were eliminated from the Caf Champions League after their goalless draw with Guinea side Horoya which saw them finish third in Group C with five points.

Sundowns now face the danger of being eliminated from the top-eight competition as they head into the return leg with a one-goal deficit as a second-half goal by Taariq Fielies proved to be the difference in the first leg in Cape Town last Saturday.

The defending Absa Premiership champions have now gone four matches without finding the back of the net, with their last goal coming against Golden Arrows in their opening MTN8 clash on 11 August.

Mosimane admits that his side’s result against AS Togo-Port and Horoya cost them a place in the next round of the Caf Champions League, but they are looking to bounce back against the Citizens while rediscovering their goal-scoring form.

‘We have to look at this loss to Horoya, how it came about,’ Mosimane told his club’s official website. ‘Obviously, there are a lot of positives. The mentality is good. The attitude is good.

‘The one thing that I can say is that we will give City the attack we gave Horoya, we will go at them.

‘When you don’t have goals, it’s normal in a team. The challenge is when you don’t create the chances to score. Then you know you have a problem.

‘So we don’t have a problem to create the goals. The challenge is that we aren’t converting, and you saw that against Horoya.’

Kaizer Chiefs will host SuperSport United at the FNB Stadium in the other last-four tie of the MTN8 on Saturday, after the sides drew 2-2 in the first leg.
