Kaizer Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki felt his side should have been awarded a penalty in the dying minutes of their MTN8 semi-final second-leg clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.
Amakhosi missed the opportunity to book their place in the finals of the competition after going down 2-1 to the Brazilians with Sundowns going through 3-2 on aggregate.
Peter Shalulile opened the scoring after just 10 seconds before Ashley Du Preez levelled matters in the 34th minute but Shalulile put the game beyond Chiefs after scoring a 49th-minute winner at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
Ntseki felt like his side should have been awarded a penalty after Thapelo Maseko looked to have caught Mduduzi Mdantsane inside the area but referee Luxolo Badi waved play on.
“Unfortunately we can’t change that decision but one can tell it was a penalty,” Ntseki told SuperSport TV after the game.
“It was a penalty because he tackled him from behind and that’s a penalty, it’s inside the box. There is contact inside the box, it’s supposed to be a penalty.
“But unfortunately Kaizer Chiefs is on the losing side and Sundowns won this game when we were supposed to get a penalty.”
